In the 1970s, Hematlal Veljee started his business, specialised in the trade of textile and haberdashery, in Antananarivo, the capital of Madagascar, his homeland. Driven by his passion for the profession, he demonstrated perseverance despite all the challenges faced by international trade at that time. Later, in the 1990s, he was joined by his two sons, Sanjeev & Roupesh. The excellent reputation of their father gave them access to the necessary resources to develop the family business by diversifying their activities and remaining attentive to the market. After the demise of Hematlal Veljee in 2001, Sanjeev and Roupesh moved to Mauritius, where they set up the Group's headquarters. Since then, HV Group has strengthened its market position by perfecting its core business activities and adapting to new market trends. The values inherited from their father helped Sanjeev and Roupesh transform what was originally a simple shop into a well-established conglomerate.
